Hungry Masses: Nigerians Reject Pay Rise for Tinubu, Shettima, Akpabio, Others

Amid growing economic hardship, many Nigerians have strongly condemned the reported proposal to increase salaries and allowances for top political office holders, including President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and other government officials.

Citizens across social media platforms and public forums argue that the move is insensitive, especially at a time when millions of Nigerians are struggling with food inflation, rising fuel costs, and declining living standards.

According to reactions monitored by Testy Gossip, Nigerians believe leaders should focus on policies that reduce poverty, create jobs, and stabilize the economy rather than awarding themselves pay raises.
