Testy Gossip Reports A new video statement by Isaac Fayose, younger brother of former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose, has stirred political debate after he claimed that President Bola Tinubu has effectively taken control of Rivers State's political landscape, sidelining former governor Nyesom Wike.
In the widely circulated video, Fayose alleged that Wike, a key figure in Rivers politics and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), no longer wields the political influence he once had in the state. “Wike is no longer in charge of Rivers; Tinubu is,” Fayose stated, sparking mixed reactions online.
Reactions on social media suggest that many observers view this shift as a strategic move ahead of the 2027 general elections. Some users claimed that Wike has aligned more closely with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and has been actively delivering results for the party in the South-South region.
A commentator wrote, “Wike is a confirmed APC man now,” while another added, “It’s all in preparation towards 2027.” Others described the development as a display of “high-class politics,” calling President Tinubu a political “guru.”
However, not all are convinced. A segment of the conversation insisted that Wike remains a powerful force in Rivers State politics, arguing that his alliance with Tinubu is more of a partnership than a power transfer. “Wike is still in charge. Tinubu and Wike are on the same team, so how can Wike not be in charge?” one user questioned.
