 Atiku, Wike should leave PDP immediately –Bode George

Testy Gossip reports that A former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, has called on former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to leave the party immediately, citing their roles in deepening internal divisions.

Speaking during an interview with journalists in Lagos on Wednesday, Bode George criticized both Atiku and Wike for what he described as their "destabilizing influence" within the PDP. He accused them of prioritizing personal ambitions over the party’s unity and electoral success.

“These two men have caused enough damage to this party,” George said. “If they truly love the PDP, the honorable thing to do is to leave. We need to rebuild, and we cannot do that with people who are constantly undermining the process.”

Bode George's comments come amid ongoing tensions within the PDP following the 2023 general elections and subsequent leadership tussles. Both Atiku and Wike have been at the center of controversies, with factions within the party accusing them of fostering division.

While Wike has remained defiant in the face of criticism, maintaining his influence within the party and federal government, Atiku has also continued to advocate for electoral reforms and internal restructuring of the PDP.

George, a founding member of the party, said it was time for the PDP to "cut off the excess baggage" and focus on regaining public trust ahead of the next electoral cycle.
